Shade is the best protection money can buy
Every hour in direct sun adds UV exposure to the paint and heat to the interior — and UV damage to paint is cumulative. Covered parking at work, shaded spots at the mall and, above all, a permanent shelter at home cut that exposure dramatically. For many owners, home is where the car spends most of its 24 hours.
Care for paint the right way
• Rinse dust and sand off with plenty of water before touching the paint; dry-wiping causes swirl marks.
• Wash in the shade or early morning, not on hot panels where water spots bake on.
• Ask a detailer about paint protection film (PPF) or a ceramic coating for high-wear areas — they add a sacrificial layer against UV, sand and chips.
• Remove bird droppings and tree sap quickly; heat makes them etch faster.
Protect the leather and interior

They do different jobs. PPF is a physical film that resists stone chips and sand; a ceramic coating is a hard, glossy layer that makes cleaning easier and adds UV resistance. Many owners combine them — ask a reputable detailer for your car.
How should I clean dust off my car?
Always rinse with plenty of water first, then wash with a proper car shampoo and soft mitt, in the shade. Never dry-wipe dust — it acts like fine sandpaper on the paint.
Can I leave my car in a shelter for the whole summer?
